Memorial Day

Originally known as "Decoration Day" and first observed to decorate the graves of Civil War veterans, Memorial Day is now a day to recognize all fallen war veterans. Most people think of it as the first big warm-weather weekend, but be sure to remember its real purpose. A moment of silence is scheduled for Monday at 3:00 pm.

For more Memorial Day events and interesting information, check out the Memorial Day Page from the Veterans Affiars or the official web pages of Arlington National Cemetery.
